Travis Kelce is staying strong after the Kansas City Chiefs lost their chance at a historic three-peat in the Super Bowl. Despite the tough defeat, he has decided not to retire and will continue playing in the 2025 season.
On his New Heights podcast, Kelce admitted that the loss influenced his decision. “I think I would have thought about it more if we had won… I feel like I owe the guys I come into the building with a whole lot more effort and focus. I just don’t know what it was during that game, man. I wasn’t at my best.”
Taylor Swift has supported Kelce throughout his NFL journey, often cheering him on from a private suite. However, sources say she has mixed feelings about his decision to keep playing. According to RadarOnline, Swift “wants to get married and start a family, and now is the time.” While she understands his passion for football, she reportedly hoped he would retire. The Super Bowl loss was also described as a “dose of reality” for the couple, making them think more seriously about their future.
Kelce has made it clear that he isn’t ready to walk away from the game just yet. “I love so many people in Kansas City… and it’s home for me now,” he said. “I feel like there’s a responsibility for me to play out the contract that I initially signed.”
Despite his football commitment, Kelce and Swift are reportedly looking at real estate together. A source told Us Weekly that they “want to explore buying a home together” when their schedules allow.
For now, Kelce remains focused on football, while Swift continues to support him—even as they navigate their long-term plans.
