Pop icon Taylor Swift recently gave an emotional and funny speech at her best friend and “sister” Selena Gomez’s wedding to Benny Blanco via Page Six.
Gomez and Blanco tied the knot on Saturday at the Sea Crest Nursery in Santa Barbara, Calif., surrounded by around 170 loved ones, including Swift.
At some point during the ceremony, the pop superstar — who got engaged to Travis Kelce last month — “joked in the speech that Selena beat her to the altar, but at least they both have found the loves of their lives,” according to the Daily Mail.
While at some points humorous, the speech was overall “so beautiful” that it left the bride and several guests “crying,” per the outlet.
Reports suggest that Swift reportedly talked about “always having Selena’s back and how they are sisters — and that while Selena may see Taylor as the big sister, Taylor sees Selena as teaching her so much.”
Daily Mail also reported that the “Blank Space” singer, also “talked about how she and Selena have both been through so much together, both professionally and personally, [and] said that whenever one of them had their hearts broken from failed relationship[s] over the years, they were always there for each other.”
Reports suggest that Swift told guests that it was only when the “Lose You to Love Me” songstress “finally came to the realization that she was just fine with who she was and concentrated on being just her that she fell in love with Benny.”
She went on to call music producer Blanco “the most perfect person” for her pal.
“It isn’t luck that they found each other; it’s love,” she added, according to the outlet.
Swift also reportedly described the newlyweds as the “perfect pair,” noting that “in all the years she has known Selena, she has never seen her so happy.”
