Suge Knight has made it clear that Kanye West went too far with his recent comments about JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s children. Speaking from prison on The Art of Dialogue podcast, the Death Row Records co-founder strongly criticized Ye for insulting the Carters’ 7-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir. “I need to talk to Kanye,” Knight said. “We never, ever disrespect someone’s kids. You don’t call JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s children ‘r*tarded.’ That’s unacceptable. There are real consequences for that kind of behavior.”
Knight expressed his disappointment in Ye, saying the Hip-Hop community should hold itself to a higher standard. “I expect more from people in Hip-Hop, from our community,” he continued. “As Black people, we’ve come a long way. We don’t disrespect kids or people with disabilities. That’s not funny at all.” He went even further, calling Kanye a “bih” and saying he deserves an “old-fashioned a-whooping.”
Despite his harsh words for Ye, Knight had nothing but respect for Beyoncé, praising her hard work and contributions to the culture. “What Beyoncé does for Hip-Hop and for our people is incredible. She works really hard. Her sister and her whole family are good people,” he added.
The controversy started after Kanye posted several offensive messages on social media, mocking JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s children and making harmful claims about their mental health. In one of his most shocking posts, Ye wrote on Twitter:
“WAIT HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN JAY Z AND BEYONCÉ’S YOUNGER KIDS? THEY’RE RTARDED. NO LIKE LITERALLY. AND THIS IS WHY ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION IS A BLESSING. HAVING RTARDED CHILDREN IS A CHOICE.”
Although he later deleted the post, Kanye doubled down with another disturbing message:
“I NEED EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT I TOOK THE POST ABOUT JAY Z AND BEYONCÉ’S FAMILY DOWN AND JERRY LORENZO’S FAMILY DOWN BECAUSE THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY OF MY TWITTER BEING CANCELLED, NOT BECAUSE I’M A GOOD PERSON. I TOOK IT DOWN LIKE DOWN SYNDROME. GET IT. AM I RIGHT? FK THE WORLD. REAL TALK. FK EEEEVVEEERREEE BODY.”
Kanye didn’t stop there. He continued to attack the Carters, writing:
“AT LEAST JAY Z AND BEYONCÉ GET TO RAISE THEIR R*TARDED A** KIDS. AIN’T NO CELEBRITY EVER SAID NOTHING TO COME TO MY AID WHEN IT CAME TO THESE WHITE WOMEN TAKING MY KIDS. CAUSE THEY WAS MAD I WAS WEARING A TRUMP HAT. FK JAY Z AND HIS WHOLE FAMILY. ESPECIALLY HIS SHOOTERS. AND NOW THAT YOU THINK JAY Z PUY A** MADE ME TAKE IT DOWN I GOT TO DOUBLE DOWN.”
