Joy Villa made a strong statement at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, showing her support for President Donald Trump. She wore a cap that said “The Hat Stays On” and a gold dress that she said represented cryptocurrency, which she called “the new wave of freedom.” While Trump has supported cryptocurrency, its value dropped after he announced tariffs.
Villa explained her outfit was meant to show “American exceptionalism” and to “make America glamorous again.” She also said the message on her hat meant Trump’s supporters are strong and will not back down. “They tried to get rid of Trump, but he’s still here,” she said.
In 2019, Villa wore a dress inspired by the border wall with the words “Build the Wall” on it to show support for Trump. This time, she talked about his policy on deportations, saying, “I think the people being deported should be deported. My family came here legally, and I want to see criminals, like rapists and human traffickers, sent back.”
However, her views might face some challenges. A recent HuffPost report stated that many of the people being deported don’t have serious criminal records and were only arrested for crossing the border illegally
