Shakira has postponed her concert in Peru due to a health issue. On Sunday, February 16, she shared on social media that she had to go to the emergency room the night before because of stomach problems and is now in the hospital.
“The doctors have told me I’m not well enough to perform tonight,” Shakira, 48, wrote. “I’m very sad because I was looking forward to seeing my amazing fans in Peru. I hope to be released and feel better tomorrow so I can perform. My team and the promoters are already working on a new date.”
She ended her message by signing it, “Shak.”
Shakira began her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour on February 11 in Rio de Janeiro. After performing in Brazil, she was set to perform in Peru on February 16 and 17.
Just before her tour, Shakira won Best Latin Pop Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards for Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, beating artists like Anitta, Luis Fonsi, Kany García, and Kali Uchis.
“This is incredible, thank you so much,” she said while accepting the award. She also performed at the ceremony and gave a special shout-out to her two sons, Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10, whom she shares with ex-partner Gerard Piqué.
“I want to share this award with my kids, Milan and Sasha,” she said. “I’m so proud of you. Thank you for always supporting me. I love you.”
The day after the Grammys, Shakira celebrated on social media.
“Thank you for this Best Latin Pop Album! I had so much fun performing,” she wrote on February 3. “It was a dream to be around so many great artists and friends. Can’t wait to see you on my tour in May!”
