Sammy Hagar has recently been called out by some fans as he took to Instagram to inadvertently give a nod to the chorus in the song ‘The Trouble With Never’. Of course, this is Sammy’s side of the story and he’s sticking to it. Fans, on the other hand, are not so sure that he’s telling the truth.
On the Van Halen forums, this was brought to everyone’s attention as one fan reported on the incident: “I was nearly blown over by a rather buzzed *Sammy on Instagram quoting the chorus of “The Trouble With Never” and expounding upon this concept until a few of us said something to the effect of… dude, you do realize you are quoting David Lee Roth, don’t you?”
The fan continued: “He was dumbfounded. I had a rather funny exchange with him (as @theobviouscom) and here’s the scoop of that exchange: Sammy said he never listened to A Different Kind Of Truth!!”
This interaction stirred up some other fans on the forums and they had some back and forth about the truth of the situation.
Another fan stated the following: “‘When was the last time you did something for the first time,’ Dave already stole that from someone else. It’s not exclusive to VH or TTWN.”
This is really a toss up.
