Prince William ‘Fury’ Claims Spark Charles Tension Over Andrew
Prince William is reported to be at odds with King Charles over how the Royal Family should deal with Prince Andrew, with a new claim suggesting the Prince of Wales wants tougher action taken following allegations surrounding the Duke’s conduct and status. The report describes disagreement over whether the family has moved quickly enough to limit reputational damage to the monarchy.
IBTimes UK reported that Prince Andrew was detained on 19 February in Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office, questioned for 11 hours and later released without charge as police examined his communications with the late Jeffrey Epstein during Andrew’s time as a UK trade envoy.
The same report cited an unnamed source claiming Prince William believes firmer and faster action should have been taken when Andrew’s links to Epstein first became a national scandal, including calls for him to be removed from public royal life. The article also stated that King Charles has previously removed Andrew’s military titles and patronages, with further honours said to have been stripped in 2025, but that the latest claims have reignited internal tensions.
Prince William has previously been linked to efforts to tighten restrictions around Andrew’s role, including claims that he allegedly influenced Prince Andrew’s exile from public royal duties as the family sought to contain the fallout from the scandal.
Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have not publicly addressed the alleged private disagreements described in the report, and Andrew has repeatedly denied wrongdoing relating to Epstein. With no charges reported in connection with the recent detention described, the wider debate within the Royal Family over accountability and succession is likely to remain under close scrutiny.
