Prince William ‘May Exclude’ Harry From Coronation
Prince William could exclude Prince Harry from attending his future coronation, according to a new claim published amid continuing tensions between the brothers. The allegation, attributed to a new book about the Royal Family, has reignited discussion about how the long-running rift may shape major state occasions in years to come.
In its report, Express said author Mr Tom Bower’s new biography alleges that Prince William decided “that afternoon” not to invite the Duke of Sussex to his coronation.
The article states that the claim is contained in Bower’s book Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family, and that it was said to have been revealed by a “guest” attending a reception linked to King Charles III’s coronation. It also notes Prince Harry attended the King’s coronation without Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and that he had no formal role in the ceremony and did not appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony with working members of the family.
Separate Britpop News reporting has examined how Prince William has been viewed internally as making “hard calls” in response to royal controversies, a theme that the latest claim is likely to feed into as the monarchy plans for future transitions.
While the book allegation concerns a hypothetical future event, it underscores the scale of the personal and institutional challenges facing the House of Windsor, with any coronation guest list expected to be closely scrutinised for what it signals about family unity and the direction of the monarchy.
