Prince Harry’s regimental tie draws attention during fourth day at High Court
Prince Harry’s appearance at the High Court in London this week has drawn attention not only for the continuing privacy case against the publisher of the Daily Mail, but also for a detail in his courtroom attire. The Duke of Sussex attended for a fourth consecutive day on Thursday, wearing a dark suit and a tie linked to his military background.
Prince Harry wore a claret-and-navy striped tie identified as regimental attire of the Household Division. Hello Magazine reported that the detail was noted by Gert’s Royals on X and connected to the Duke’s decade of Armed Forces service, including two tours of Afghanistan.
The article also revisited the Duke’s military history, saying he joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2005, later served with the Blues and Royals and trained as an Apache helicopter pilot. It noted that after leaving the Army in 2015, he said he would maintain links with fellow servicemen and women, and highlighted his founding of the Invictus Games in 2014.
His return to court is part of a wider legal battle involving seven claimants, including Sir Elton John and Ms Elizabeth Hurley, who allege unlawful information gathering by Associated Newspapers Ltd, which the publisher strongly denies. The proceedings follow earlier courtroom moments in the same case when Prince Harry got laughter in court during questioning over his title.
The trial continues at the Royal Courts of Justice, with the Duke’s evidence and the publisher’s response central to a case that has renewed focus on press standards and the privacy rights of public figures.
