Prince Harry might be getting his security back. After requesting that the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) review its security policies, the decision to deny Prince Harry full-time, armed protection while in the United Kingdom could soon be reversed via Fox News.
“It’s now a formality. Sources at the Home Office have indicated that security is now nailed on for Harry,” one insider told the Mail on Sunday.
Additionally, it is reported by People magazine that “positive” considerations were being made by the governing body regarding the possible reversal.
Royal experts reckoned that recent developments around Prince Harry’s security arrangements in the U.K. could signal a broader shift toward reconciliation for the royal family.
“If the reports are true that the Government body RAVEC have now established that Harry and the family can receive full protection whilst in Great Britain, then it shows that perhaps Harry was right all the time to seek legal confirmation on this fact,” royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital.
“It means that situations are fast approaching, that a thaw in relationships is moving forward and that a reconciliation with all the family is possible,” he added.
Turner noted the “U-turn in policy” might be because of the whispers regarding King Charles’ declining health. “This again brings up the subject — why now? There have been many alleged views on the state of the king’s health. Is that a consideration for this U-turn in policy clearing up issues before more decisive arrangements are made?”
He continued, “If it is deemed officially true, the door is opening for a united royal family once more. I believe Charles has listened to public opinion and wishes to make sure if something untoward happens to him — Harry and William will support Camilla as a queen in some capacity.”
The British government stopped providing police protection for Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle after the couple stepped back from their senior roles in the royal family in 2020. Since then, Prince Harry has been locked in a legal battle. He argued the protection remains necessary for his family and even offered to personally pay for it.
