Prince Harry was almost set up with reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian before he met Meghan Markle, according to comedian Katherine Ryan. Ryan said she tried to play matchmaker between the two during a party at comedian Jimmy Carr’s London home in 2016.
At that time, Harry was single after breaking up with Cressida Bonas and Chelsy Davy. Kourtney was also in an on-and-off relationship with Scott Disick.
Ryan, 41, told the Mail that when she arrived at the party, she saw Kourtney with Princess Beatrice.
“I went straight over to her because I knew who she was from watching the family’s reality show,” Ryan said. “She was so nice and charming.”
During their chat, Ryan encouraged Kourtney to break up with Disick. When Kourtney asked who else she could date, Ryan suggested Prince Harry.
“I said Prince Harry because she was in the UK — it would be like two royal families coming together,” Ryan joked, calling the Kardashians “reality TV royalty.”
At the time, Harry had said he was ready to settle down but knew it would be hard to find someone willing to take on the challenges of royal life.
It’s not clear if Ryan’s idea ever went anywhere. Harry later met Meghan Markle after seeing her photos on Instagram, as he described in his memoir Spare.
The couple said a mutual friend, Violet von Westenholz, set them up on a blind date.
Since then, Harry and Meghan have shared their story in a Netflix documentary, while Kourtney continued her reality TV career.
