Prince Harry visited Ukraine on Thursday to meet war victims at a rehabilitation clinic in Lviv, where he interacted with both military personnel and civilians who were injured during the ongoing conflict. The Superhumans Center, which helps rehabilitate individuals with psychological support, reconstructive surgery, and prosthetics, was the focus of his visit.
Accompanied by members of the Invictus Games Foundation, including four veterans who had undergone similar rehabilitation, Prince Harry met with patients, medical staff, and Ukraine’s Minister of Veterans Affairs, Natalia Kalmykova. The visit was kept secret until after he left the country for security reasons, as Lviv has been a target of Russian missile strikes.
The Prince, who served for 10 years in the British Army, founded the Invictus Games in 2014 to allow wounded veterans to compete in sports. He was invited by Olga Rudneva, the CEO of the Superhumans Center, during the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver.
The visit was an opportunity for Prince Harry to observe the vital support being provided in a war zone and emphasized the Invictus Games Foundation’s commitment to supporting veterans’ recovery, even in challenging environments.
Prince Harry’s visit to Ukraine follows that of other members of the royal family, including his father, King Charles, who welcomed Ukrainian President Zelensky to Sandringham, and his brother, Prince William, who visited Ukrainian refugees in Estonia.
