Prince Harry says Meghan Markle gave him advice he always relies on: stick to the truth.
In a new interview with The Guardian, Harry explained that Meghan told him truth is “the most efficient way to live,” because lying “takes up too much time and effort.”
The Duke of Sussex, 41, recently returned to the U.K. and met King Charles for the first time since February 2024. He said his main focus now “has to be on my dad,” who continues treatment for an undisclosed cancer.
Harry also revealed that the visit made him want to bring their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, back to Britain, softening earlier concerns about security. “Yes, I would. This week has definitely brought that closer,” he said, adding that he has always loved the U.K. and enjoyed reconnecting with people and causes dear to him.
He defended his memoir Spare, saying he didn’t air “dirty laundry,” but instead corrected false stories. “You cannot have reconciliation before you have truth,” he said, givin emphasis to accountability over revenge.
Despite years of tension with his father and brother, Prince William, Harry insisted he is happy with his life in California and not defined by tabloid narratives. “I think parts of the British press want to believe that I am miserable, but I’m not. I am very happy with who I am, and I like the life that I live,” he said.
