Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship has become so strained that some insiders believe Harry might not even attend William’s future coronation. The brothers reportedly haven’t spoken in two years, and a source told Page Six that William may not even invite Harry when the time comes.
Tensions grew even worse after Harry’s recent BBC interview, where he claimed his father, King Charles, won’t speak to him. A royal source said, “I think it’s over… there’s no coming back from that. Before the interview, people hoped William would reach out, but now it feels like Harry hasn’t changed.”
Despite the tension, Harry has expressed interest in fixing things. “I would love reconciliation with my family,” he said in the interview. “There’s no point in fighting anymore, life is precious.”
Royal expert Hugo Vickers noted that while William could invite Harry to the coronation, he doesn’t have to. “It’s not guaranteed. The Duke of Windsor wasn’t invited to Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953, and there was a lot of debate about that too,” he said.
Sources say that no one in the royal family really trusts Harry and Meghan Markle anymore due to their repeated public criticisms since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
Although rumors have built up that William might strip the couple of their HRH titles once he becomes king, insiders doubt it will happen. “It would seem petty,” one said, with another adding, “No one thinks they’re royal anymore anyway.”
Harry was also recently upset after losing a legal case to reinstate his publicly funded security in the UK. He said he couldn’t imagine bringing Meghan and their children back under the current circumstances, especially as King Charles continues to battle cancer.
