Prince Harry “regrets” the role he played in the ongoing rift with the royal family, especially as he and his wife, Meghan Markle, quit their roles as working royals via Yahoo.
As per a new report, the Duke of Sussex wishes he had handled things “differently,” as the feud between the two parties appears to have no end in sight.
Prince Harry plans to extend an olive branch to his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, by inviting them both to the 2027 Invictus Games.
Harry and Meghan have faced ongoing tensions with the royal family since stepping back from their roles as senior royals and relocating to the United States. The situation worsened after their interview with talk show host Oprah Winfrey, during which they made serious allegations of bullying and racism against the royal family.
Shortly thereafter, Harry released his memoir, “Spare,” in which he made additional strong claims about his family members.
As per royal author, Duncan Larcombe, Harry now regrets his actions and wishes he had taken a different approach.
“Harry is a sensitive soul and always wore his heart on his sleeve, so whether he’d admit it publicly or not, I’m sure he’s full of regrets and wishes he’d done things differently,” Larcombe told OK! Magazine.
He continued, “With Trooping the Colour and Father’s Day falling on the same weekend, it was bound to make him look back at the happy relationships he once had with his brother and dad, and I’m sure he’d love to be able to rebuild those.”
The remarks by author Larcombe come after it was alleged that Harry is planning to invite King Charles and Prince William to the 2027 Invictus Games in a move that could mark the beginning of a royal reconciliation.
The games, which will be held in Birmingham in July of that year, may serve as the setting for a long-awaited family reunion.
According to sources, the Duke of Sussex has already approved a proposed royal guest list and helped shape the language of the upcoming invitations.
