Prince Louis turned seven on April 23, and to celebrate, Prince William and Princess Kate shared a cute new photo and a video showing his fun personality. But back on July 9, 2018, when Louis was just a few months old, he was celebrating his christening. For the special day, Prince Harry gave Louis a very unique gift, much more exciting than the usual card and money.
Instead of a regular gift, Harry gave Louis a rare first-edition copy of Winnie the Pooh, which was first published in 1926. The book was special to Harry because his late mother, Princess Diana, loved classic books. The book cost Harry around £8,000 ($10,600) back in 2018, and now it’s worth even more, with similar copies selling for over $15,000 today.
Harry had also thought about giving Louis an even more expensive book, a first-edition of Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll, which was priced at £24,000. But he decided on the Winnie the Pooh book because it had a special meaning. A source said that one of Harry’s happiest childhood memories was being read stories by Princess Diana, and he wanted to start a collection of first-edition books for Louis, Charlotte, and George to enjoy as they grow up.
For his birthday this year, Louis looked a bit more grown-up in his photo. While in the past, he wore the traditional British style of shorts with a sweater or shirt, this year he wore jeans, showing how much he’s growing.
