Prince Harry has asked for more security protection after receiving a threat from Al-Qaeda, following the removal of his state-funded security. He appeared in the Royal Courts of Justice in London to request the return of his police protection, which was taken away after he stepped back from his royal duties.
Harry’s lawyer confirmed that Al-Qaeda had issued a threat, stating they wanted him “murdered,” and that his assassination would “please the Muslim community.” This threat was reportedly made after Harry’s military service in Afghanistan, which may have attracted attention from extremist groups.
Harry’s legal team emphasized that the case is about his safety, as he feels unsafe bringing his family—wife Meghan Markle and their children—to the UK without protection. The legal battle has been ongoing for several years, and a ruling is expected soon.
While some argue that Harry is seeking security benefits without fulfilling royal duties, others point out the legitimate threat he faces. Harry is also involved in a charity scandal concerning Sentebale, the organization he co-founded, which has seen a decline in fundraising since his move to California.
