Oasis is known for their catchy songs and strong personalities. The band’s brothers, Liam and Noel Gallagher, often argue and make fun of other musicians, but Noel Gallagher might just sell Oasis ownership for a big payday.
Many artists have faced criticism from the Gallagher brothers, including Phil Collins. Noel has openly disliked Collins and even joked that people should vote for the Labour party to keep him away. He once told The Guardian that if the Conservatives won, Collins might return to the UK, which he thought would be bad.
As the Gallaghers joked about Collins and suggested he was a Conservative, Collins started to dislike them just as much. Although he enjoyed some of their music, their loud behavior turned him off. Luckily, they stayed in different circles, so they didn’t meet—until an unexpected encounter.
Collins ran into Noel Gallagher while on vacation on Mustique Island with his wife. They liked a small bar there, and Collins suggested hiring some musicians to play. The bar owner said he’d find the musicians if Collins would play drums.
Collins agreed to perform but was shocked to see Gallagher and other celebrities, like Johnny Depp and Kate Moss, in the audience. He tried to be friendly and invited Gallagher to join him on stage, but Gallagher declined, and his wife made a comment about Collins’ recent music. Feeling embarrassed, Collins went back to the bar, but Kate Moss came over to apologize for the awkwardness.
When Collins and his band started to play, Gallagher and his group left the bar, making it a strange coincidence that they would meet in such a small place. Despite the embarrassment, Collins took it in stride and continued with his performance.
