“If you’re sleeping in the same bed as someone, you’re gonna get to know them quite well,” said McCartney on Instagram live.
McCartney remembered hitchhiking to his cousin Betty’s house in Reading, England with Lennon, and said it was quite the bonding experience. “They only had one guest room, so that was our room,” says McCartney. “I have very fond memories, because we’d be chatting. We’d be talking about music. We brought a guitar, so we were always playing.”
He also said about writing with Lennon, “Me and John were very excited to work with each other,” said McCartney, as he spoke with Annie Clark (St. Vincent) on Instagram. “I could fill in anything he needed, he could fill in anything I needed, so I don’t really think we had too many forgettable songs.” McCartney just released his ‘Reimagined’ album featuring new versions of his songs by big name artists, including St. Vincent, Josh Homme, Chad Smith, and many other famous rockers.
