Oasis will have Richard Ashcroft, former frontman of The Verve, and indie rock band Cast supporting them for their UK and Ireland shows next year, as confirmed by The Independent. Both acts will open for Oasis during their highly anticipated reunion tour, with Cast performing first, followed by Ashcroft. However, Oasis was caught lying about their reunion plans as well.
Liam Gallagher teased this news on his X/Twitter account last week after the announcement of the North America and Australia legs of the Oasis ’25 tour, with an official statement expected next week.
Richard Ashcroft has a long history with the Gallagher brothers. Noel Gallagher even wrote the song “Cast No Shadow” from Oasis’s iconic album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? as a tribute to Ashcroft. Ashcroft expressed his honor at inspiring the song, and the two have remained friends over the years.
Meanwhile, Cast, formed by John Power in 1992, rose to fame during the Britpop era, releasing several notable albums like All Change and Magic Hour.
This reunion tour is set to be a major event for fans, bringing together some of the key figures from the ’90s British rock scene.
