There have been reports that Noel and Liam Gallagher are in contact nearly everyday and the brothers have been working intently on the new Oasis album. The reports further noted that while Noel works in his studio, Liam’s been remotely recording vocals to send over for Noel’s approval. Insiders reveal music is sounding “tremendous.”
Oasis announced their long-awaited reunion back in August and there has been a lot of speculation about whether Noel and Liam Gallagher will reunite in the studio, working to create a brand-new Oasis album for the first time in over 15 years. Liam Gallagher recently took to social media to confirm that there is no new music in the works from Manchester’s Britpop heroes.
The Oasis reunion has been limited to an extensive world tour which will see the Britpop legends visit the UK, Ireland, Australia, as well as North and South America. This tour is set to begin in the summer of 2025 and run through til the winter, with the potential for more dates still to be added to the roster. However, this tour announcement only seemed to fuel the fire of fans speculating about new music to come from the Gallagher brothers.
In answer to these rumours, Liam decided to set to record straight. Writing on X, formerly Twitter, the frontman shared, “Let’s just calm the fuck down there is no Oasis album in the making,” explaining, “I was fucking joking remember them and the reason being because everyone is a little uptight these days I’m sorry if I have upset anyone but f*** me it was a laugh.”
Moreover, the idea of Oasis recording new material isn’t entirely far-fetched. Both Liam and Noel have continued to write music in their respective solo careers, much of which carries a similar atmosphere and style to Oasis’ discography. In particular, Liam’s solo work evokes the glory days of his old band from their 1990s heyday.
