Noel Gallagher has expressed his openness to the idea of a Las Vegas residency “later in life,” a concept he finds appealing once he’s retired from touring. During his appearance as a guest on The Matt Morgan Podcast, the former Oasis guitarist mused, “Would I consider a Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds residency in Vegas? Perhaps in my later years. You don’t have to travel anywhere; you live in the same hotel where you perform.”
He went on to jest, “Elvis Presley used to get a lift from his room to the stage – I wouldn’t mind doing that.”
As reported by NME – While the notion of a Las Vegas residency for Gallagher may be some time off, he did reveal plans to visit the state during his tour break to witness the iconic Irish band U2 during their residency.
“I’m going on holiday for a couple of weeks, and I’ve got some studio work and family time lined up – then I’m heading to Las Vegas to catch U2,” he shared. U2 is set to perform their “Achtung Baby” residency, which Gallagher anticipates will be quite the memorable experience.
In unrelated news, Gallagher recently faced a six-month driving ban, despite never actually obtaining a driver’s license. Over the past few months, the High Flying Birds singer has faced multiple speeding-related issues, accumulating fines and penalties. In June, he received a speeding ticket, six penalty points on his license, a £742 fine, and additional court costs totaling £396. Despite his driver taking responsibility for the speeding violation, Gallagher, as the registered owner of the vehicle, bore the legal consequences.
Additionally, on September 4, Gallagher disclosed that he had repeatedly declined offers to host the show “Have I Got News For You,” citing his apprehension about holding his own against the show’s panelists as the reason for his refusals.
