Just when we thought the Oasis reunion was locked in, rumors are swirling that Zak Starkey—who was widely expected to return as Oasis’ drummer—has instead chosen to tour with The Who this summer.
According to multiple sources, Oasis has already found their new drummer—Joey War-onker. War-onker has played with some absolute legends, including:
Paul McCartney, Beck, R E M.,Atoms for Peace. Not only that, he’s already worked with Liam Gallagher and John Squire during their 2024 tour.
Now, here’s where things get interesting—Liam actually hinted at new faces in the Oasis lineup months ago on Twitter. So, if Waronker is the guy, it makes perfect sense as he’s got the experience. He’s worked with Liam before. And he’s more than capable of handling a stadium tour.
The Gallagher brothers are officially back together, the reunion tour is happening, and now the big question remains—is a new Oasis album on the way?
Liam Gallagher recently sent fans into a frenzy when he casually dropped the word “November” on X, in response to a fan asking when the new Oasis album was coming. If anyone is going to accidentally leak something or say the quiet part out loud, it’s him. But just as quickly as he teased the album, he pulled it back.
November 2025 is actually a pretty logical release date for an Oasis album as it follows the first leg of their reunion tour. Noel Gallagher has also recorded six potential new Oasis songs which could be included in the new album.
The 57-year-old rocker has been active in the studio ahead of the group’s reunion tour this year but with previous recording sessions for the group being notoriously volatile as a result of the tension between him and brother Liam Gallagher, the possibility of a row between the pair is being minimised as they would’t have to be in the same room in order to finish the tracks.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Noel has been making new music for a few months and has around six tracks in the bag.
“Now Liam could always add his vocals remotely, to avoid any bust-ups between the two siblings.
“It’s of the utmost importance that they are as harmonious as possible ahead of their massive reunion.
There is intense speculation in the record industry that Noel is to exploit the huge success of their reunion tour to finally invite Liam on his tunes.”
