Liam Gallagher has confirmed he is quitting his solo career for the Oasis reunion. Liam said Oasis is a ‘full time’ gig so it is necessary.
Liam Gallagher‘s son Gene is set to support Oasis on tour with his band Villanelle. As per reports in MailOnline, Gene has told his Villanelle mates they will be one of 10 support acts for the Oasis Live 25. Oasis are set to play a string of huge shows in the UK and Ireland in July and August next year, their first gigs since splitting 16 years ago.
Liam Gallagher’s son will support Oasis tour
Gene and his bandmates will support Oasis at the shows at venues including Manchester’s Heaton Park and Wembley Stadium in London ahead of the Wonderwall hitmakers’ headline stint.
A source told the publication:
“Gene is supporting Oasis.”
“He’s been telling a few people and he’s really excited. He loves playing with his dad and knows it will be huge for his music career.”
Gene also teased the prospect of an Oasis reunion during a recent interview with The Times just a few weeks before the official announcement. He revealed that he was pal his cousin Anais Gallagher, with the pair helping bring the warring Oasis siblings together.
At the time, he said:
“We have jokes about it but we don’t go at it.”
“She knows what her dad’s like and I know what my dad’s like. Hey, we’re a big happy family everyone.”
He added:
“It’s nothing to do with us.”
However, he revealed that he would “love it” but it was “beyond my control”.
He said:
“I get the feeling my dad wants it too. Let’s hope it happens.”
Liam Gallagher previously dropped hints that Oasis would be recording a new album in November. Further fueling the speculation is the fact that Noel Gallagher was spotted heading into a recording studio after the Oasis announcement, and some are pointing to the fact that the guitarist publicly announced he was scrapping an acoustic album earlier this year in favor of a more “defiant rock record”.
