Oasis fans have been put on red alert for a potential reunion after the band’s official page changed their profile picture which now showcases the brothers together once again. This could be the moment that we have all been waiting for.
Fans have been asking for this moment for a long time, and the two Gallagher’s have long said that it’s not going to happen, as well as publicly slagging one another off. That doesn’t mean that it will never happen though.
On the official Oasis Facebook page changed picture to a shot of both Liam and Noel together back in their heyday, fan speculation shifted into overdrive.
One fan quickly took the ball and ran with it as they commented: “Is this the Oasis comeback? US ready for Oasis tour!”
Another said: “I need to know what is the meaning behind this?! Like is it just a change of profile pic or is there meaning behind it?!
Even more fans then chimed in to show their excitement for what may be to come.
However, for every hopeful fan wondering whether the two brothers will come around the table and take to the stage once more, there is another person who is more pessimistic about the potential for a reunion.
One glass-half-full fan said: “Not happening, had my hopes up with similar posts on Twitter, they are too stubborn to kiss and make up.”
Another commented: “Yeah right, Noel and Liam Gallagher coexisting.”
As well as this, others have pointed out that the picture seems to be from around the time that Oasis’ third album ‘Be Here Now’ was released, which was 25 years ago.
Could the anniversary really be what this is all about?
Well, we know that Liam and Noel spend their time reading through these articles – or at least we like to think that – so maybe they can let us know.
Sadly, the reunion doesn’t seem that close, given that both brothers have new bands, tour dates, and successful solo careers of their own.
It should be noted that Liam left the door open slightly on the subject of a reunion, telling us: “See, I don’t mind getting asked that, ’cause it’s natural. You know what I mean? I like talking about Oasis ’cause it’s the best band in the world.”
Pressed on the matter, he said: “What, getting back together? Not this week, but I mean, I’m ready to go. My bags are packed, maybe the week after.”
