A fan asked Liam Gallagher if Alan White was invited to be the drummer for the Oasis reunion tour. Liam responded, “We don’t invite we summon.”
Oasis rocker Liam Gallagher is hopeful that Richard Ashcroft will support Oasis during their anticipated 2025 reunion tour. No official support acts are confirmed yet but Gallagher has publicly expressed his desire to have Ashcroft join the lineup.
Ashcroft’s Connection to Liam Gallagher
Ashcroft has a fair share of history with Oasis. He inspired the song “Cast No Shadow.” In a 1995 interview, Noel Gallagher explained: “I felt he was born at the wrong time and place, always trying to say the right things.”
Ashcroft, honored by Noel‘s words, said in 1997: “That’s one of the best songs he’s ever written, in my opinion.”
Recently, Liam Gallagher and Ashcroft collaborated on the 2022 single, “C’mon People (We’re Making It Now).” Ashcroft also performed as a special guest during Liam’s Finsbury Park headlining show in 2018.
The Verve, Ashcroft’s band, first performed with Oasis in 1993, before either band found fame. In 1997, they supported Oasis at London’s Earls Court, when both bands had risen to stardom. They share a 30-year history and Ashcroft supporting Oasis in 2025 would be a fitting choice, adding to their shared legacy.
When asked by a fan on X about Ashcroft supporting Oasis in 2025, Liam responded: “That would be BIBLICAL.”
Oasis are set to play 18 dates in 2025 across the United Kingdom and Ireland. On July 4th, the reunion tour starts with a two-date residency at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff starting before Oasis’ return home to Manchester to perform five shows at Heaton Park.
The Britpop band are also booked to headline seven dates at Wembley Stadium in London as well as host three concerts at the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. The Gallaghers will visit Ireland for a pair of concerts at Dublin’s Croke Park in August.
These upcoming shows will be the only place to see Oasis in 2025 across Europe. However, more dates are expected to be announced for outside of the continent.
Oasis also recently ruled out shows at Knebworth Park in 2026 after the venue’s owner made a public plea for the band to return. Notably, they played two historic shows in 1996 and 2026 would be the 30th anniversary.
