Noel Gallagher, the former Oasis rocker, has been speaking candidly about life in his 50s. Despite his reputation as a wild and rebellious rocker in his youth, Gallagher has admitted that the physical toll of every “knock” is now starting to take its toll on him.
Noel Gallagher and his brother, Liam Gallagher can regularly be seen on Twitter, with Liam being the more problematic of the two, Noel keeps a rather lower profile when it comes to being extremely outspoken.
Speaking on Greatest Hits Radio’s Ken Bruce show, Gallagher stated that he was looking forward to the day he could ride around on a mobility scooter. His comments came as he talked about how the slightest injury now stays with him for much longer than before.
While Noel feels more of the physical effects of age, it seems Liam has always more-so babbled off like an old man. Although, Liam did get hip surgery.
Despite his physical struggles, Noel Gallagher did highlight some of the positives of getting older, including the wisdom that comes with life experience, and the freedom from caring about what other people think.
As reported by Evening Standard, Noel said: “I’m not bothered what people think and I feel a lot more experienced now at life itself. But I’m not too good at dodging traffic anymore – I have to wait until the green man comes on. It’s a good job I don’t take the bus anywhere because I wouldn’t be catching any of them!”
Gallagher has been the frontman for his rock band, High Flying Birds, since quitting Oasis due to a feud with his brother and former bandmate Liam Gallagher in 2009. Despite not having a driving license, Gallagher still splashes out on luxury cars, including a £110,000 vintage Jaguar, which he previously described as his “most expensive mistake”. While his physical abilities may be fading, Gallagher remains a fixture in the music industry and a beloved figure for many fans who grew up with his music.
