Stone Roses legend Mani has announced that the huge Manchester fundraising ball that he is organising with his wife Imelda has received support from some famous names. The couple is hosting the ball in a bid to raise money to donate to charities. In an update, Mani revealed some more details about the fundraising event.
The event will be curated by Mani himself and his wife Imelda, and it will feature live music. DJs will attend the event along with other surprise guests. Raffel prizes are also going to be held which are donated by various bands, football players, actors, venues, and promoters. This is being done to raise money for charities that are devoted to cancer. Imelda was diagnosed with cancer and the couple has decided to help others in need via these charities.
John Robb, who is a musician, writer, and broadcaster, will host the event and will see the launch of an online auction that will consist of memorabilia, holiday packages, and rare items that collectors have their eyes upon. Some of these items include gold discs signed by both Noel Gallagher and Johhny Marr, boots with Manchester United legend David Beckham’s signature, and a hand-painted guitar by Mani’s fellow Stone Roses bandmate John Squire.
Other donations that the couple have received include a signed Foo Fighters guitar, a signed Roger Daltry & Pete Townsend guitar, a holiday package in a French country estate for a seven night stay, and a year’s worth of supply of wine provided by Cork of the North in Heaton Moor.
The items can be bid for online as they will go live on Friday, November 18.
