Noel Gallagher opened up about his life to The Quietus. He spoke on a wide variety of topics of his life including how his life wouldn’t be the same if it wasn’t for those odd years he had in his lifetime. No one can believe how life changes for the better unless we have faith.
Faith is an integral part of Noel’s life who got on probation from school at the age of 14 for robbing a corner shop. These 6 months turned his life and he picked up a guitar to practice music. Life can be different for all, but one thing is consistent and that hard work pays off. He said:
“When I left school, The Wall was the pothead’s album. Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here I maybe overplayed but The Wall I could never get tired of. That track ‘Nobody Home’ just brings back so many memories for me. After leaving school, I just used to go round my mates house, skin up, and we’d listen to this. Happy, carefree days.
It was Pink Floyd who impressed his life and it continues to be that way to this day. He remembers Nobody Home as much as any other music that ever came out. He even talked about how he met Dave Gilmour and told him he likes his songs, but his wife likes Meddle. He said:
I met Dave Gilmour once at an industry thing and I think I pissed him off. I said to him, ‘Dave, I think The Wall is your best album but my wife won’t have it, she prefers listening to Meddle.’ And he said, ‘Well, clearly your wife has impeccable taste where you have little. I suggest you listen to her.’ I was like, ‘What the fuck are you talking about? She hasn’t got a clue! Get out of it.
Dave told him that his wife has great taste in music and he should listen to her. It changed things for Noel. He would like to meet Roger Waters because it’s the kind of music that appeals to Noel and his approach. He finds it soothing more than anything else.
Gallagher is yet to make a concept album, but he has become more unique in his own way about music and the work he does. It means that we can see him coming out with a different album down the line. Will you be excited about it?
