A new Beatles documentary, produced by Martin Scorsese and directed by David Tedeschi, is coming to Disney+ on November 29. The film, called Beatles ’64, shows The Beatles’ first trip to America over 60 years ago. It features never-before-seen footage of the band and their fans, offering a rare look at how they became one of the most loved and influential bands in history and Thom Yorke claimed he isn’t ripping off The Beatles.
The documentary includes restored footage from the band’s debut US concert in Washington, DC, and their famous appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. It also features new interviews with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and fans whose lives were changed by The Beatles.
To celebrate the film’s release, seven of the band’s US albums from 1964-1965 will be re-released on high-quality vinyl on November 22. Additionally, a special 60th-anniversary edition of A Hard Day’s Night will be out on October 19 for National Album Day 2024.
This follows the success of the 2021 The Beatles: Get Back documentary, which was also released on Disney+. More Beatles-related projects are in the works, including biopics about each member of the band, scheduled for release in 2027.
