Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx ripped artists who chose to kick off 2021 with New Years concerts, as the United States is still battling the pandemic.
Sixx tweeted, “What’s yer thoughts on all these different artists performing for NYE during a global pandemic. I think it’s stupidly irresponsible.” He added that he chose to stay home for New Years, “Staying home and away from the super spreaders. 2020 was hard but the first few months of 2021 are looking to be even worse.”
While Sixx has ripped KISS over the last couple of years for their farewell tour, it does not appear he is referring to KISS’ New Years Eve performance in Dubai on internet PPV, which was socially distanced and safely done.
Sixx liked a tweet by a fan that said, “I thought the @kiss show was excellent and much needed. The preShow showed how they addresses Covid and the band stayed in their rooms. I give them props.”
Sixx wrote on Instagram about his hopes for 2021 as well, “Here’s to being better human beings in 2021. Happy new beginnings and hoping this newest year brings us closer together as a planet with a safe and successful vaccine for everybody. .. With love. December 31st 2020 6:29pm.”
Motley Crue were scheduled to reunite for a stadium tour in 2020 with Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett, but the dates were postponed to 2021.
