Mike Shinoda has called his Linkin Park bandmates with plans for the band to reunite socially for a BBQ soon.
LPLive tweeted, “Mike says he talked to the rest of the guys in Linkin Park last week and they talked about having a barbeque soon.”
AdeptnessPublic1269 posted on the Linkin Park Reddit about a possible new album, “I know at one point Mike said he and the guys were working on new ideas. What this means in terms of LP, I’m not too sure. Hell, that could’ve just been the Hybrid Theory 20th Anniversary collection. I also remember him saying he isn’t against having another frontman join the band but I highly, highly doubt that as a real possibility.
For starters I feel like it would just be too weird for both the fans and the band. For now though, I think the only ‘new’ stuff that we can hope to see is maybe some more unreleased/rare music.”
TerminalChaos added, “Unsure. Bands have been gone for a lot longer than 4 years and came back after a member died.
Personally I am fine with LP being over. With have a solid discography and I have almost two decades of memories.”
