Sad news grazed the household of The Black Keys bandmate, Patrick Carney, as it was revealed that he will be divorcing his wife, fellow singer=songwriter, Michelle Branch. This came after Branch was arrested on grounds of domestic assault where, according to multiple outlets, she slapped Carney and accused her now ex-husband of allegedly being unfaithful.
Branch would state to People: “To say that I am totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family. The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward. “With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness.”
The two would post one of their final known images as a couple before this incident via Branch’s social media. This particular image was shared on Branch’s Instagram page with the caption: “She fell in love with the drummer.” It can be seen below.
Fans have been loving the latest release by The Black Keys since ‘Dropout Boogie’ hit shelves earlier this year on May 13th. Over on a prominent e-commerce website, one amateur reviewer stated the following in regards to the release: “These guys never disappoint and this album is no exception. From start to finish there’s no mistaking the essence of their roots in every song. I have had it on repeat since it was delivered. My only complaint, and it’s not a complaint, is the vocal distortions. Dan has such a beautiful voice, just wish it could be heard a little clearer. Even still, it sounds excellent. Great job guys!”
While another would proclaim: “I love this band, have all their albums and this latest offering is another excellent album. It’s too early to say how it ranks in their discography but to my mind, they haven’t made a bad album. My only criticism is it’s a tad short at about 34 minutes but apart from that another fine slab of blues/rock.”
