Mel B is such a great woman. Mel received her MBE from Prince William last year, which oddly enough was during a time where she was seen wearing a dress that was designed from another former Spice Girl – Victoria Beckham. What came to a head though was a very embarrassing moment where Mel showed just a bit too much to Prince William.
The dress that Mel B was wearing seemed to have some kind of malfunction as she had a bit of a slip due to the chest part of the dress seemingly coming undone. In fact, Mel thought this was some kind of prank played by Victoria Beckham at the time.
When Mel got her brooch for raising awareness of domestic violence, it had to be pinned onto her chest by Prince William at last year’s ceremony to give Mel just a bit of extra support.
Per reports of Express, on the US TV show Live With Ryan and Kelly, Mel explained: “Victoria designed my dress for the occasion – and she put a big slit right there. I was like, ‘Oh, sorry!’”
She then said that the whole ordeal was “embarrassing”, she explained: “Victoria knew…she knew. I think she did a number on me.”
She added of her trip to Buckingham Palace: “I didn’t realize [the award brooch] goes on your chest.”
It hadn’t been her first encounter with Prince William, as she’d already met him previously when she was in the Spice Girls, but surely this was a bit of an eyeful for the prince as opposed to what he saw of the group years ago.
On this latest occasion, in 2022, Prince William greeted her with a “how are you”, but according to Mel, seemed unsure of why she was being recognized for an MBE.
“[He said]: ‘So, why are you here, is it Spice Girls?’” she recalled, “and I was like, ‘I wish we were getting an MBE for the Spice Girls!’”
