Meghan Markle Reportedly Misses 2026 Met Gala Invite
Meghan Markle has been linked to fresh speculation in the US entertainment world after reports suggested she and Prince Harry have not been invited to the 2026 Met Gala in New York. The annual fashion fundraiser is set to take place on 4 May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and any absence from the guest list is often treated as a measure of celebrity standing.
In an opinion piece, Express claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not included on this year’s invitation list, with Vogue editor Ms Anna Wintour cited as a key figure behind the event’s guest selection.
The same report said NewsNation suggested Meghan was hoping that her links to A-list figures such as Ms Serena Williams and singer Ms Beyoncé Knowles-Carter might help secure an invite, although it added that this “apparently did not happen”. It also listed several stars who were said to be expected on the red carpet, including actress Ms Sydney Sweeney, television personality Ms Kris Jenner, rapper Ms Cardi B, singer Ms Rosalía, actor Mr Jacob Elordi and actor Mr Robert Pattinson.
Meghan has previously been the subject of royal and celebrity scrutiny, including claims that she was allegedly barred from a Balmoral trip, as public interest continues to focus on where the Sussexes sit within both Hollywood and royal circles.
With the Met Gala weeks away, the final guest list and attendees will only become clear on the night, but the latest reporting underlines how closely Meghan’s public profile is watched on both sides of the Atlantic.
