Meghan Markle’s As Ever Jam Post Sparks Backlash
Meghan Markle has drawn renewed online criticism after a promotional image for her lifestyle brand, As Ever, showed five teaspoons of jam arranged on a white plate while the caption described three fruit spreads.
The Duchess of Sussex shared the post on the brand’s official Instagram page on Tuesday evening (March 3), and Daily Record reported that some social media users mocked both the presentation and the wording, including the line: “Designed to move easily from breakfast to dessert, and everywhere in between.”
According to the outlet, the image prompted Reddit comments questioning why “three spreads” were shown with five spoons, while others derided the styling and described the shot as a “gastric nightmare.” The article also cited posts ridiculing the caption as “nonsense” and comparing it to an “incantation or potion recipe.”
The reaction follows other recent scrutiny of the Duchess, including coverage in which her Netflix show missed the Top 300 in reported viewing rankings.
As Ever launched last April, with the Daily Record noting that early collections sold out shortly after release and included products such as strawberry and raspberry jam, honey and tea. Meghan announced the brand in February 2025, linking it to her longstanding interest in cooking, crafting and gardening.
