Meghan Markle has encountered another delay with her podcast, which is now postponed again. In February 2024, she signed a deal with Lemonada Media to launch a new podcast after Spotify decided not to renew her $20 million contract for her previous show, “Archetypes.”
Originally set to debut last year, the new podcast has faced setbacks, with sources saying that Lemonada struggled to get started. Meghan’s Netflix series “With Love, Meghan” has also been delayed due to the California wildfires, and now her podcast is facing a similar fate.
Though details about the new podcast series are still unclear, Meghan will host the show. After signing with Lemonada, her past Spotify episodes will be available on other platforms.
Meghan’s previous experience with Spotify wasn’t without controversy. Former staff members accused her of creating a difficult work environment, describing the experience as “really awful” and “painful.” There were allegations of bullying and behind-the-back talk, with one source claiming Meghan played games with colleagues and undermined others.
In addition to the podcast delays, her Netflix lifestyle series, “With Love, Meghan,” has also been postponed. The Sussexes signed a $100 million deal with Netflix in 2020, and although they released multiple projects like their documentary series and “Heart of Invictus,” Markle’s latest venture has faced delays.
Meghan also launched a new business venture, American Riviera Orchard, in March 2024. However, there is no release date for the products, and Markle has struggled with trademark issues, even asking for an extension from the US Patent and Trademark Office.
