Prince Harry shared more details about a pre-wedding argument between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton in his book Spare. The issue was about Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress, which left Meghan upset and in tears.
Earlier reports claimed Meghan made Kate cry, but Meghan said in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey that it was the other way around. Harry explained what happened during the stressful days before the wedding.
Kate told Meghan that Charlotte’s dress didn’t fit properly and needed to be remade. Meghan, already overwhelmed with wedding preparations and her father’s health problems, suggested having the dress altered instead. Kate insisted that all the dresses should be redone.
Meghan texted Kate, asking her to take Charlotte to a tailor, like other mothers were doing. Kate refused and said the dresses still needed to be remade. Meghan reminded Kate about the stress she was under, but Kate said the wedding was only four days away.
Meghan told Kate again to take Charlotte to the tailor, saying she didn’t know what else to do. Kate finally replied with a short “Fine.” Later, Harry found Meghan crying on the floor because of the situation.
Kate later apologized and brought flowers and a card to make peace. Harry said it was a stressful time for everyone, and Kate didn’t mean any harm.
