Meghan Markle’s new cooking show With Love, Meghan just came out on Netflix, but some people aren’t happy about it. Famous chefs and lifestyle stars say Meghan copied their ideas without giving them credit.
In the first episode, Meghan cooks a simple pasta with tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, arugula, and cheese. But Martha Stewart made a very similar recipe years ago—and she’s upset that Meghan didn’t mention her. Martha, who’s 83, even reposted her recipe with a title that said, “The original and the best!” A source said Martha is really angry and thinks Meghan has a lot of nerve.
That’s not all. Meghan’s lifestyle brand, first called American Riviera Orchard and now renamed As Ever, looks very similar to Joanna Gaines’ popular brand Magnolia. Joanna hasn’t said anything in public, but sources say she’s not happy and thinks Meghan copied her style. One insider said, “It looks way too similar.”
Rachael Ray, another famous cooking star, also isn’t impressed. A source said she told friends Meghan “can’t even cook pasta right.” Some people online even said parts of Meghan’s show look almost exactly like Pamela Anderson’s cooking show, Pamela’s Cooking With Love.
While many are upset, Meghan has one famous supporter—Gwyneth Paltrow. Gwyneth said she was raised to support other women and wants to stand up for Meghan, even though she hasn’t watched the show yet. Still, fans are unsure if her support is real, since she also has her own lifestyle brand and might be a quiet competitor.
Meghan and Prince Harry signed a big $100 million deal with Netflix, and this cooking and lifestyle show is part of it. But instead of praise, Meghan is getting a lot of heat from other stars who think she copied their work.
