Madonna, Shakira and BTS Named for World Cup Show
Madonna, Shakira and BTS have been announced as the headline acts for the first-ever FIFA World Cup final halftime show, marking a new entertainment add-on for the tournament’s showcase match. The performance is set to take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey during the 2026 final.
Page Six reported that FIFA’s official World Cup Instagram account revealed the trio will perform on July 19 at the final halftime show at MetLife Stadium, with the caption describing it as “The world’s biggest stage. An even bigger purpose.”
The same report said Coldplay frontman Chris Martin will curate the show, and that the halftime event will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a fundraising initiative aimed at expanding access to education and football for children worldwide.
Madonna’s booking continues a busy period for the pop icon, who has recently been in the headlines after turning heads with her “witchy” Met Gala look earlier this month.
FIFA’s plans also include donating $1 from every ticket sold to World Cup 2026 matches to the fund, according to the announcement cited in the report. The tournament will be hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico and Canada, with the opening match scheduled for 11 June.
