Liam Payne’s friend, Roger Nores recently slammed the hotel where the singer passed away and argued that they were “responsible for his death.”
The ex-One Direction star fell from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel while on holiday in Buenos Aires, Argentina and passed away. Liam had been there with his love Kate Cassidy before she jetted back to the US, leaving him in Argentina with his friend Roger.
Roger, who is an Argentine tycoon and reportedly looked after Liam’s business affairs, was among the last people to see the singer before he passed away.
Currently, he is facing an inquiry over negligence for leaving Liam alone despite knowing he faced risks. In the wake of the event, Roger made it clear, asserting he “never abandoned Liam.”
Reports have emerged that Roger is blaming CasaSur Palermo Hotel for playing a significant part in Liam’s tragic passing, arguing that he shouldn’t be the one facing scrutiny. TMZ claims to have seen new legal documents from Roger’s attorneys, the hotel is accused of not having a 24-hour doctor on hand as legally required.
Moreover, Roger blames the hotel for ignoring Liam’s well-being and claimed the operations manager knew about Liam’s drunken condition and insisting a doctor should’ve been on call from the moment Liam arrived.
“A world-famous person was staying with obvious signs of being going through a crisis caused by drug intake at that very moment, and they did not even make an effort there to makeup for their legal omission of having a 24-hour doctor,” the document allegedly reads.
Roger also noted that despite apparent knowledge of the singer’s extended drinking spree, the hotel failed to intervene. He maintains his innocence, stating it was the hotel manager who left Liam unattended, not him. He further added that Liam seemed to be trying to escape the room and noted that the singer had a bag and a hat with him when he met his untimely end.
