Noel Gallagher, the former Oasis front man is making waves in the tabloids lately. After the separation from his wife of over a decade, the Northern lad is kicking the beer cans back along the cobblestone streets of Northern England. There’s talks of him reuniting with brother and Oasis, and he’s collaborating with UK music notables. Today, however, Noel is hitting back hard against Liverpool’s Jamie Carragher. Why? Let’s find out…
As per the Daily Mail, Noel Gallagher blasted Jamie Carragher after his criticism of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland. The Liverpool icon Carragher suggested earlier this month that the Norwegian striker may have picked the wrong club in joining City and claimed they look a ‘lesser team’ with him playing.
But Haaland, 22, has 31 goals in 29 games in all competitions so far this season – and former Oasis star and City fan Gallagher took pundit Carragher to task over his comments.
Speaking about his side’s Wednesday evening’s clash with Premier League title rivals Arsenal, Gallagher said on Talksport: ‘I think it will be a great game. I think it will be an open game.
Presenter Gabby Agbonlahor then asked: ‘But Noel, Jamie Carragher said Haaland chose the wrong team. Do you believe that?’
To which the famous guitarist responded: ‘Yeah, but no one listens to Carragher, do they?’, causing laughter in the studio for Agbonlahor and co-host Alan Brazil.
Noel is no an expert in football – or soccer as it is referred to in the US. Perhaps he should inquire about a position as a commentator for future football outings.
