Oasis rocker Liam Gallagher recently took to X account and addressed ‘lifelong Australia ban’ rumors after Oasis announced the tour.
Liam Gallagher opens up on the matter
“I thought Liam had a lifelong Ban to fly on Qantas and entering Australia,” a user wrote in the comment section of the tour announcement.
Liam replied by saying, “Well you thought wrong didn’t you it was Kathy pathetic and there are other airlines I can take.”
In 1998, following a fight on a flight that involved a scone, Liam was banned for life from Cathay Pacific Airlines and said he would ‘rather walk.’ During the band’s tour in Australia, he was also arrested for allegedly headbutting a fan who just wanted a photo. The criminal charges were dropped, but he settled a civil case.
Oasis added Australia to their upcoming reunion tour. “‘People of the land down under. ‘You better run-you better take cover…’ We are coming. You are most welcome,’” Noel Gallagher wrote on X.
His statement continued, “Oasis will tour Australia in 2025! Register for the Australian ticket pre-sale private ballot: https://OasisMusic.lnk.to/presaleau. The pre-sale will take place on Monday 14th October. Tickets go on general sale Tuesday, 15th October 10AM AEDT (Melbourne) and 12PM AEDT (Sydney).”
Oasis are set to perform at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on October 31, 2025, and at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on November 7th. The tour promoter, Live Nation, recently announced that they will not use the ticket pricing system that Ticketmaster used for the UK tour. It made some tickets three times more expensive and upset fans.
When asked about the possibility of dynamic pricing, Live Nation has referred to the statement shared by Oasis last week, where they confirmed there would be no dynamic pricing applied to tickets for their North American shows.
“It is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool to combat ticket touting and keep prices for a significant proportion of fans lower than the market rate and thus more affordable,” the band’s management explained in a statement.
They added, “But, when unprecedented ticket demand (where the entire tour could be sold many times over at the moment tickets go on sale) is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans.”
The Gallaghers are set to start their North American tour with two shows at Toronto’s Rogers Stadium on August 24th and 25th. They will then perform at Chicago’s Soldier Field on August 28th.
