Liam Gallagher joked about the size of the Wembley crowd before his performance at the Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois boxing match, saying it was a “little on the small side.” He will perform in front of 96,000 fans on Saturday night, marking his first show since the announcement of Oasis’s reunion for a record-breaking UK and Ireland tour next year.
Many boxing fans are hoping to see Liam and his brother Noel perform together for the first time in 15 years, though those rumors remain speculative. Liam confirmed that his setlist will include three classic Oasis songs: “Rock n’ Roll Star,” “Supersonic,” and “Cigarettes and Alcohol.”
Liam humorously responded to a fan who mentioned the large crowd, saying he would manage despite its size. He is used to big crowds, having played to 500,000 people at Knebworth in 1994.
While more than 1.5 million people are expected to watch Oasis reunite in 2025, many fans missed out on tickets due to long queues and criticized pricing strategies.
Liam’s performance at the boxing event was booked before the reunion was announced, and all three songs feature him as the lead vocalist. Event organizer Turki Alalshikh showed hope that Noel would join Liam on stage, stating it would be amazing to see them together again.
However, promoter Eddie Hearn had doubts about that happening, suggesting that Oasis has its own plans for the reunion tour, which is set to begin soon.
