Jimmy Page recently discussed a classic Yardbirds performance on Instagram. He wrote, “On this day in 1968, The Yardbirds played the Anderson Theater in New York and Epic Records hoped to record the show.
The remastered audio from this performance was released via JimmyPage.com on 5th November 2017, titled Yardbirds ’68.
In a combined statement, JP, Chris Dreja and Jim McCarty said: ‘We thought this might be lost forever, but we’ve rediscovered it, re-mixed it. It’s of great historical importance. We’re delighted to see the release.'”
He later posted about a more recent release, “On this day, the Spring Equinox, in 2012, the title music for Lucifer Rising and Other Sound Tracks had its premiere and release.
The title music, along with other musical pieces recorded at my home studio in the early Seventies, have been revisited, remixed and released for the first time.
This is a musical diary of avant-garde compositions and experiments, one of which was to appear on the film Lucifer Rising.
