King Charles III is showing growing friendship with David Beckham, which many royal watchers see as a clear message to Prince Harry amid ongoing family tensions.
At the Chelsea Flower Show, King Charles warmly greeted Beckham and even mentioned he had sent him roses for his 50th birthday. This public show of support comes just after reports that Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz had dinner at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s home in Montecito, California a visit seen as a sign of support during their own struggles with family.
Brooklyn skipped David Beckham’s birthday celebrations, which drew attention to his distance from his famous parents, similar to Harry’s situation with the royal family. Sources say Harry and Meghan are quietly supporting Brooklyn and Nicola, seeing similarities in their family issues. Both Meghan and Nicola have been blamed in the media for causing rifts between sons and their families.
Meanwhile, Charles and the rest of the royal family appear to be standing by David and Victoria Beckham. The king previously invited them to a private dinner and they attended a state banquet at Buckingham Palace. Kate Middleton also recently wore a suit by Victoria Beckham, showing her growing influence in royal circles.
There’s even speculation that David Beckham could be in line for a knighthood. He and King Charles reportedly bond over shared hobbies like gardening and making honey.
Beckham was once close with Prince Harry and even attended his wedding in 2018. But their friendship reportedly cooled after Harry and Meghan accused the Beckhams of leaking stories to the press something David and Victoria strongly denied.
