Prince Andrew is once again in trouble, and reports say King Charles is getting tired of dealing with him. New emails show that Andrew stayed in contact with Jeffrey Epstein after 2010, even though he had claimed he cut ties with him that year. The emails, part of a U.K. court case, include one from February 2011 that says, “Keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon!!!!” Experts believe this message came from Andrew, and it was read aloud in a London courtroom.
This goes against what Andrew said in a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, where he insisted he had no contact with Epstein after meeting him in December 2010. He later admitted that meeting Epstein again was a “wrong decision.” Now, with these emails coming out, royal experts say the royal family is worried that more damaging information could be revealed.
King Charles is reportedly making sure that Andrew stays away from senior royals and does not appear at official events. Even though Andrew stepped away from royal duties in 2019, he still hopes to return to public life, but this new scandal makes that unlikely.
The email was revealed in a court case involving Jes Staley, a former Barclays CEO, who was banned from top jobs in finance because he misled people about his relationship with Epstein. Staley resigned in 2021 after an investigation into his ties with the disgraced financier.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams called Andrew’s actions a “major embarrassment” for the royal family. For now, Andrew is staying out of the spotlight, but his past connections and scandals continue to cause problems for the monarchy.
