King Charles Charms Bermuda Crowd as Fan Reaction Goes Viral
King Charles has sparked a wave of online attention after footage showed a member of the public beaming with excitement following a brief exchange with the monarch during an official engagement in Bermuda.
Outside the Museum of Bermuda, Hello Magazine reported that the King stopped to shake hands and speak with people lined up behind barriers, with one onlooker’s “wonderfully wholesome reaction” to the meeting spreading widely on social media.
The publication said the clip attracted comments including: “His inner six-year-old came out to play. I’m only surprised he didn’t jump up and down,” and: “Pretty sure I would have the same childish look on my face, had I just exchanged views with King Charles. I’m a great fan!”
The Bermuda walkabout formed part of the King’s official schedule in the British Overseas Territory, where he apologised in a speech for not visiting sooner and noted it was the first time a reigning monarch had travelled there in the islands’ 400-year history.
Charles’s Bermuda engagements followed his state visit to the United States with Queen Camilla, and the latest viral moment underlines the public interest that continues to surround the King’s overseas appearances and interactions with crowds.
