Kevin Federline says he’s ‘happy’ Britney Spears is getting help
Kevin Federline has spoken publicly about Britney Spears voluntarily entering rehab, saying he is “happy” she appears to be seeking help on her own terms after a recent DUI arrest.
Page Six reported that Federline’s lawyer, Mr Mark Vincent Kaplan, said his client was aware of reports Spears had checked into rehab and was glad the decision “appears to be one that she made” rather than something imposed by others.
The report said a representative for Ms Spears confirmed she had checked herself into rehab, and a source told Page Six it was not about one specific substance but had a “dual purpose”, with the singer prioritising her mental health and taking time to focus on what matters to her. Federline and Spears were married from 2004 to 2007 and share two sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19.
The update follows Britpop News reporting that Britney Spears’ sons have been supportive in the aftermath of her DUI arrest, with Page Six noting she has spent time with them in recent weeks and that her family backs her decision to seek treatment.
Spears’ rehab stay marks her latest step in addressing wellbeing and recovery, as attention continues to focus on the singer’s personal life in the wake of the arrest and subsequent reports about her health.
