Kelly Clarkson has postponed the opening shows of her Las Vegas residency, Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions, at the Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace. The decision came just hours before the first show, to protect her vocal cords from “serious damage.”
In an Instagram post, Kelly explained, “We’ve been working non-stop to make Studio Sessions the most special experience for my amazing fans. I’m so grateful you always support me, and I’m heartbroken to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s shows.”
The concerts were originally set for July 4 and 5, but her website and Ticketmaster now list them as “Date & Time TBA.” The residency is still scheduled to run until November 15.
Kelly added, “All the prep and rehearsals have really strained my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for you all, and I have to protect myself from serious damage. So I’m taking this weekend and next week to rest. The show is incredible, and I want us to kick it off at our best.”
She ended by saying, “I can’t wait to be back next weekend and show you everything we’ve been working on.”
In addition to her Vegas shows, Kelly will also launch a four-episode NBC special later this summer called Songs & Stories with Kelly Clarkson, where she’ll chat with stars like Gloria Estefan, the Jonas Brothers, Lizzo, and Teddy Swims.
